Copper coated stitching wire
Mild steel wire with a copper coating. On a finished carton or a book spine it looks like solid copper at a much lower cost, and the smooth coating feeds easily through the machine.

Applications
Where it is used
Copper coated wire is not a rust protection grade. Where the copper coating is damaged, the steel underneath rusts faster, not slower. Choose copper coated wire for its look, and choose galvanised wire or a solid alloy where rust protection matters.
